Christine Ballard
International Tax Director
Chris is an international tax advisor with over 30 years of experience who helps global startups, venture-backed companies, funds, and investors navigate the complex U.S. tax considerations that come with cross-border growth and investment. She specializes in U.S. income tax planning and reporting for non-U.S. investments, with deep experience advising non-U.S. operating companies and U.S. investors on tax structuring, entity management, investor reporting, treaty analysis, business expansion, and exit planning.
Before joining Frank, Rimerman + Co., Chris built a distinguished career in international tax leadership. She was the first female international tax partner at RSM, served as a partner at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP (now Forvis-Mazars) in Washington, D.C., and then later as an international tax partner at Moss Adams LLP (now Baker Tilly), where she started her focus on Latin America and emerging markets. In 2020, she founded Ballard & Associates, a boutique tax consulting and compliance firm serving venture-backed Latin American startups that grew to over 250 startups.
