Will works with early and mid-stage venture backed companies serving as their Director of Finance. He has served clients in a number of industries including software-as-a-service (SaaS), traditional software, infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), mobile, computer networking, and internet (media, design). Will’s areas of expertise include managing startup operations, accounting and business process, month-end/quarter-end close process, financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP, preparing reports for Board of Directors meetings, budgeting and monthly forecasts, equity management, audit preparation, due diligence, and acquisitions.

Will specializes in helping high growth clients navigate the operational and technical pitfalls as they scale and optimize their financial operations. He collaborates with his clients to help ensure that they are always audit and acquisition-ready. He has been instrumental in successfully navigating multiple clients through the process of being acquired.

She has served clients spanning an array of industries including life sciences (biopharma, biotech, medical device), software, SaaS, hardware (semiconductor, robotics), internet (gaming, social broadcasting, media), cleantech and nonprofit.

Lizzie’s areas of expertise include managing startup operations, advising on accounting and business processes, mitigating risk and collaborating with executive teams on financial planning. Melanie Kidder combines straightforward communication with over twenty-four years of finance experience to garner consistent results for her clients. She works with clients to quickly identify problems, prioritize urgent matters and layout options in simple terms that make sense.

In conjunction with her accounting experience at a biotech and SaaS start-up, Melanie began her career in Frank, Rimerman’s Assurance and Advisory department, which includes four years auditing privately-held companies and employee retirement plans. As a member of the ACFO Group, Melanie provides part-time CFO or VP of Finance services, primarily for early and mid-stage venture-backed companies.

Melanie’s expertise includes:
- managing start-up operations
- accounting and business processes
- system implementation and conversion
- financial reporting and reporting for Board of Directors
- stock option and equity accounting
- audit and due diligence preparation
- budgeting, international operations, and consolidation (domestic and foreign)

Outside of the firm, Melanie actively supports the parent teacher association at her son’s school for which she has held multiple executive Board member roles. She loves dogs—especially her two German Shepherds. She gets to the beach and 49ers games as often as she can.

Sangeeta has over 15 years of accounting management experience and is a Partner in our firm’s Family Office Practice. After starting her career within our Tax Practice where she gained valuable experience serving high net worth individuals, Sangeeta transferred to our Family Office Practice where she provides outsourced accounting support to high net worth individuals and their families. Sangeeta’s areas of expertise include:
- managing cash flow, bank accounts, credit cards, etc.
- facilitating personal investment transactions
- bookkeeping and accounting, including monthly and annual reporting
- tracking expenses
- preparation of information for use in tax planning and return preparation
Sangeeta was instrumental in the expansion of our Family Office Practice in our firm’s San Francisco office, enabling our team to serve even more clients. Joanna has over 15 years of accounting management and tax experience. As an experienced financial leader, she has honed her skills and expertise in tax management, strategic financial planning for high-net worth families, and building long-term meaningful client relationships.

She works closely with families assisting them with the management of their day-to-day financial matters and entities, thriving by combining her talents in project management, ethical stewardship, and collaboration.

Her areas of expertise include: monthly and annual reporting; assistance with investments transactions and subscription documents, tracking expenses and cost basis of assets, assistance with payroll processes and health benefit administration, and preparation of information for use in individual and business tax planning and return preparation.

Internally, Joanna plays a key role in strategic initiatives for the Family Office department to increase speed, quality, and expansion of client service offerings. These include initiatives around team engagement or morale, new software, and process optimization and standardization.
