She has served clients spanning an array of industries including life sciences (biopharma, biotech, medical device), software, SaaS, hardware (semiconductor, robotics), internet (gaming, social broadcasting, media), cleantech and nonprofit.

Lizzie’s areas of expertise include managing startup operations, advising on accounting and business processes, mitigating risk and collaborating with executive teams on financial planning. With nearly 30 years of experience providing accounting, auditing, and business advisory services to early and mid-stage technology companies, Melanie leads the firm’s Accounting and CFO Advisory Group which provides part-time accounting, controller and CFO services for startup companies and privately held businesses.

Melanie provides part-time CFO or VP of Finance services, primarily for early and mid-stage venture-backed companies in the SaaS, software, internet, mobile, semiconductor, hardware, and life science industries. With her straightforward communication style, she works with clients to quickly identify problems, prioritize urgent matters and lay out options in simple terms that make sense.

Melanie’s areas of expertise include financial planning and modeling, reporting and metrics, debt and equity financings, M&A support, sales operations, human resources and training, coaching, revenue recognition and international expansion.

Sangeeta has over 15 years of accounting management experience and is a Partner in our firm’s Family Office Practice. After starting her career within our Tax Practice where she gained valuable experience serving high net worth individuals, Sangeeta transferred to our Family Office Practice where she provides outsourced accounting support to high net worth individuals and their families. Sangeeta’s areas of expertise include:
- managing cash flow, bank accounts, credit cards, etc.
- facilitating personal investment transactions
- bookkeeping and accounting, including monthly and annual reporting
- tracking expenses
- preparation of information for use in tax planning and return preparation
Sangeeta was instrumental in the expansion of our Family Office Practice in our firm’s San Francisco office, enabling our team to serve even more clients. She works closely with families assisting them with the management of their day-to-day financial matters and entities, thriving by combining her talents in project management, ethical stewardship, and collaboration.

Her areas of expertise include: monthly and annual reporting; assistance with investments transactions and subscription documents, tracking expenses and cost basis of assets, assistance with payroll processes and health benefit administration, and preparation of information for use in individual and business tax planning and return preparation.

Internally, Joanna plays a key role in strategic initiatives for the Family Office department to increase speed, quality, and expansion of client service offerings. These include initiatives around team engagement or morale, new software, and process optimization and standardization.
